After taking off their body armor and laying down their Middle Ages-style weapons, members of the Society for Creative Anachronism traveled to Speck's to dine on giant Speck Burgers and liquid refreshments. About 50 members of the group from five states converged on the bar to celebrate their sport. Members of the society re-create medieval battles and tournaments. All the armor is hand-made and the fighting is real.

The group that visited the Speck's were from the Kingdom of Calontir, which is made up of members from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and northwest Arkansas. They will travel to Phoenix in February to battle other Kingdoms made up from members from other states. They have about 100,000 members nationwide.
